New Dishes

Yesterday, after looking online for quite a while, I went out to purchase my BASIC WHITE DINNERWARE, with the wide rim. I had been looking at department stores (didn't have what I wanted), Williams Sonoma and Crate and Barrel (out of my price range), Target.com (not basic enough) and category killers like Bed Bath & Beyond (quality was a concern). Then I remembered World Market and Pier 1. They both had the simple design I wanted, in porcelain, and in a price that works with my budget. Also signed up for 10% off with WM. So yesterday morning (i'm an early bird) I went out and Pier 1 wasn't open; WM had just. Not only did I get 10% off, but they were running a promotion on the dinnerware, sets of 6- exactly what I wanted. I've now got my dinner plates, salad plates and bowls.

Plus two new containers for my salts.

Now I need to be on the lookout for some layering pieces. I think I want those all mismatched so just picking up fun pieces when I'm out and about, or even at antique/vintage/thrift stores, will be the way to go.
