My Espresso...

Why can't I make espresso? I follow the directions and yet I've never been able to achieve that "creme" that I keep reading about. Frustrating. I even bought fancy ground espresso at World Market this weekend, in hopes that it would produce a better cup.

I use a percolator like this, so any suggestions would be very helpful!
