When the weather's freezing and/or rainy, b.f's been so kind as to drive me to work, and then I bus it home.
The first time there was a nice and chatty man next to me, the second some odd friendly guy was chatting with me (or giving me his philosophy on life) while waiting for the bus, then I had the pleasure(?) of sitting near two potheads on the bus.
Yesterday I finished my book (The Rug Merchant, a nice quiet read, ending the only way it really could) and ended up sitting near a late-middle-aged couple that reeked of fart. No joke. It was bad. Then at one stop, a woman and her two kids came on. One was a nose-picker. Sigh.
But it wasn't without a moment of laughter- at a stop light there was a man on a motorcycle next to us wearing a harley davidson jacket and clear goggles (like what glasses-wearing kids wear when playing basketball in gym), and sported a wavy mullet. He was checking himself out in the bus's reflection and fluffed up his mullet bangs. LOL!
Oh, shoot. Does this count against my "Be Nicer" resolution? I finished a book, so it evens out, no?
We looked at 4 houses last night. The first one needed some updating, but was a good price. Kitchen was weird b/c it reminded me of a house I used to babysit at. The second one was a weird one- living areas were an odd layout (which of course we liked!) and it had a nice kitchen. Exterior is boring/ugly but a few potted plants and a fresh color would improve that. Has a weird storage area where the garage might once have been that would make a great artist's studio... It's a little pricier than we'd like, but will number crunch and go from there... The 3rd had no power and was small and the fourth, the upstairs was great, the kitchen was nice, but the living/dining area was smaller than what we have now and the backyard was cramped- at an angle and you could easily see into like 7 neighbors' houses from the patio. No.
