Cranberry Sauce, Revised

So I took my regular cranberry sauce method (package directions plus orange zest) and added a little from the other recipe.

2 bags cranberries
about 1 3/4 cup water
about 1/4 cup lillet (any white wine I'm sure would do and this is what I had in the fridge. (Vespers are very strong cocktails.))
1 cup sugar (as opposed to 2)
2 pinches of ground nutmeg
2 shakes of ground cinnamon
about 2T finely chopped orange zest (no pith)

Pretty good! Of course I'll know for sure tomorrow when it's cold and gelled. It tastes like cranberries AND like fall. : )

  1. I am making a modern cranberry sauce this year, too, with pomegranate seeds and sliced grapes. I hope it turns out good! I just started cooking and I've never made cranberry sauce before…
