The option period of the house is expiring tomorrow. Still need an HVAC person to go out there today and see how bad the a/c unit is (it's old, very energy inefficient, and the venting system was set up wrong so it's working twice as hard as it should). Plumbing went out yesterday, electrical the day before. So far, we're looking at $4K of repairs... Of course, not everything needs to be done immediately, so we'll see.
House is being sold "as is" but the price doesn't reflect that (they're asking what it's worth re: taxes) so I have no problems asking for the sellers to take the cost of repairs off the price of the house. At the very least, cover 50% of the estimates, yanno?
